Money Chicas and Money Chicos, I’m ba-ack with a brand new bag! I’ve been away beefing up my blogger know-how at Type-A Parent Conference 2012, enjoying some pampering at Mom and Dad’s house (you guys are the best!), and preparing myself to come back to you fully rested and ready to provide you with the very best my grey matter can generate.
As we’ve journeyed together these past four months, I’ve really found myself through blogging. Yeah, like the mid-life crisis kind of found myself. I have battled with myself professionally and personally for…well…I’ll say a relatively long time. I feel a little bit like Jim Carrey in Liar, Liar where he’s kicking his own rear-end. I have beat myself up about everything….having a job, not having a job, staying at home, not staying at home, going to back to school, not going back to school…and drove myself (and hubby) a little crazy in the process.
Over the past four months my life went from Sunday Drive to NASCAR…count this as my first and LAST reference to racing (sorry, North Carolina). Within two weeks of my blogging journey, I caught the attention of New Latina, and began my adventure writing with an amazing team of women. As Carmen Grant (read: new media maven & bloguera extraordinaire) worked tirelessly to catch me up to speed on all that is new media, we forged one of the easiest working and personal relationships all fueled by social media technology. Having never met, we founded MSB New Media, LLC and launched our flagship blogger community and agency: Military Spouse Bloggers. And then she sent me to the most awesome conference full of the most awesome people I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. Game changer for sure.
Let me tell you a little bit about Carmen…for the longest time, I’ve been standing at the edge of a professional cliff…so many directions I could pick to jump. I knew that I desired the flexibility of self-employment, but found myself frozen in the fear of failure. It’s like standing on the high diving board, and being afraid to jump, even though you know how to swim. Cue Carmen, sprinting past me. She grabbed my hand as she fearlessly jumped off the edge…not truly knowing if I would be a deadweight or a true fighter. She lavished her time and resources on me. On. ME.
I had to pay her back, and pay her back in kind. When she took that leap, I made a silent oath to myself. And to the powers that Be. I would not waste this opportunity. I would not waste this moment. She was put in my path for a reason, and I in hers. No waste. No fear. Only action.
So, “what does it all mean, Basil?” If you guessed, Austin Powers, gold star…
As life has gotten busier, it’s been challenging to make all the pieces of my life work in harmony. It’s been a bit like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. So, to make life easier, and to ensure that I’m able to give my best to all of my ventures, personal and professional, I’ve been hammering out a regular schedule of where and when you can find me across the interwebs…
Mondays: Military Money Chica – Smart Money Mondays
Tuesdays: New Latina – The Married Latina Files, Personal Finance, and College Bound
Wednesdays: Free day…for now.
Thursdays: Military Spouse Bloggers - Techy, Geeky, Bloggy, New Media Awesomeness
Friday: Military Money Chica – Whatever Floats My Boat (or yours, feel free to leave notes below)
Thank you a million times over for all of the love, likes, comments, and support. I am so humbled.

So amazing to connect with you at Type-A. I feel you were put in my path for a reason. I get my pampering next week so I hope to have time to sit back and read and catch up on everything.
