As moms, we have tendency to be pretty darn prepared for any situation that comes our way. We don’t have time to sweat over spilled milk, a hungry kiddo, an unexpected clothing stain, or the dreaded diaper blowout. We’ve got it down because we’ve got our purse/diaper bag/car stocked like we’re awaiting the zombie apocalypse. No chance of our kids being caught with dirty undies in the event of an emergency. No, ma’am.
Mom’s are the most prepared individuals on the face of the planet. Isn’t it great when you get a stain on your shirt around your mom friends? By the time you say “Oh, shoot” you see heads down and hands rummaging through luggage sized purses and seconds later you’ve got a smorgasbord of stain fighting solutions at your fingertips.
Even as a kid, my mom’s purse was like Mary Poppins magical carpet bag. She always had ANYTHING we asked for in that purse. She claimed she had everything but the kitchen sink in there…I am pretty sure it was in there, though.
What never seems to fail me now, is that I am prepared for almost any situation…so long as it doesn’t involve me. I manage to keep changes of clothing, extra undies, baby wipes, dipes, snacks, socks, sunscreen, a beach bag (gotta be prepared for fun in the sun), poop bags for the dog, shopping bags for the store….but rarely do I have all the things I need for myself.

- Extra shoes…who hasn’t broken a shoe?
- Bra
- Lipgloss
- Lotion
- Gum
- Contacts/Glasses
- Pads/Tampons
- Extra Jewelry
- Hair accessories
All of these items store nicely in a gallon size zipper bag, but you can always find something to suit your needs. Do take care with the lotion, deodorant, and lipgloss…in the heat, they might leak, so pack smart and double bag those items.
